sketchbook paintings

Hey there! Here's some more sketches out of the small book. I have been experimenting with gel mediums, spray fixitive, gouache, and the occasional snippets of junk mail. I'm trying to keep it loose and alive on these. I hope you enjoy these sketches as much as I did making them!

holy jebus, these are sick! I dig the doughboy pages. Using the fortune cookie fortune was pretty tight. These pages get my brain churning

Hey Jackson! Thanks for the compliment. Yeah watercolors is a lot of fun. I think I need to start getting back to traditional mediums. Too much photoshop for me.

I always get inspired when I visit your blog and I see your plein air studies. That's something I need to do more of as well. Just wondering, do you prefer gouache over watercolor? Is gouache easier to work with?

Thanks for your advice Jackson. That helps a lot! Yeah I've been wanting to try gouache for a while now. I'm gonna have to try that technique of yours and use both when I go out to do landscape paintings. It looks like a lot of fun working with both in one piece. Man, I can't wait to try out a new medium haha. Thanks again for your input!
